A Birth Mother’s Letter to her Unborn Baby
Dear unborn baby inside me,
Hi there precious one. It’s your tummy mommy.
Right now you are growing inside of my tummy and I already love you so much, more than you will ever know. When I found out that you were in my belly, I was happy because I am bringing another beautiful baby into the world. I was also sad, because I know that one day you won’t be in my tummy anymore.
You will be on your way home, but it won’t be home with me.
See, as your tummy mommy, it is my job to always put you first and do what’s best for you and your future. That is why I took the time while you were growing in my tummy to pick the best mommy and daddy I possibly could for you. As you grow over the years, they will be the ones to teach you everything you will need to know on how to be successful in your life.
Each and every day that you are growing inside of me, it’s a reminder that you’ll always be a part of me. My heart aches daily knowing I won’t be calling you my baby. Though this decision brings great grief upon me, it also brings pleasant delight to your mommy and daddy.
Before and during your growth in my tummy, my heart and my life were in shambles. Certainly not together enough to raise a child without turning their life upside down as well. That is why I have chose your mommy and your daddy to protect you from all danger. There isn’t a holiday or a birthday that won’t be difficult for me but I would much rather you wake up on Christmas morning with a smile on your face and cheerful parents waiting by the tree with a cup of hot chocolate for you. Waiting for you to wake up. Waiting for you to open your presents. Your mommy and daddy will be there waiting for you to have so many wonderful birthdays.
One thing I want you to know and always remember is that I love you so very much.
All my love,
Tummy Mommy
