3 Birth Mothers and our Family
We have not 1, but 3 birth mothers that we are forever grateful for their ultimate sacrifice! We decided to grow our family through adoption, and it was the BEST DECISION we have ever made!
Our family was blessed with our first child in 2015, a beautiful baby girl. We always wanted a large family and wanted our oldest to have a sibling.
In 2017, we experienced a failed adoption. As heartbreaking as that was, we knew our child would find us. Trust us, it was not easy at times to “stay the course” and move on. We spent many nights doubting ourselves and feeling that this will never happen again for us. We were lucky we had one precious baby and our relationship with her birth mother was growing every day.
But just as we thought it wasn’t meant to be, later that year, we were blessed with our second child, another beautiful baby girl! Our hearts were full, and we couldn’t believe the gifts we have been given. After much conversation and prayer, we decided to go through the home study process one final time just to see what would happen. We were positive but knew it may not happen for us for a third time. We went through so much with our first two girls, we felt that if it was meant to be, it will be.
Much to our shock, we were blessed with our third child, a little baby boy! We couldn’t believe it! We consider ourselves so lucky.
Not only has our family grown with these beautiful children, but our hearts extend much further outside our home to the birth families who granted us these gifts. “Our heroes” are the women who made the selfless decision because they knew it was the best for their child. As they would suffer much heart ache and sadness, they knew they couldn’t provide the way they would like for their babies, adoption was an option that was the best for them and their baby.
We are ever so grateful for them and we can’t begin to imagine what they go through, but we want them to know they are loved and we share stories of their child with them constantly. They are a part of our journey and part of our life who we embrace, love and cherish. Our goal is to foster a positive and healthy relationship with each of them so that our children never have any unanswered questions and always understand how much they are loved by so many people.
We know there are many families out there still waiting and our hearts go out to them. Be patient and trust in God. There is no right way for an adoption. Everyone’s journey is different and takes different paths. We know how fortunate we were to have such success and we pray for all those families and all those birth mothers every day.
